National Bond & Trust (NBT) has assumed the administrative responsibilities
of the JPL U.S. Savings Bond Program through payroll deduction. NBT
will issue and mail your Bonds once a month; implement all changes and
updates to an employee’s account, and conduct periodic informative meetings
to discuss new products and services. The utilization of NBT will
result in the following improvements:
Savings Bond Hotline
: Employees will now be able to call
NBT directly at their toll free number, (800) 426-9314 between the hours
of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CST Monday though Friday for general information
or to make any changes to an account. The phone number is also to
be used to report lost or stolen Bonds, or errors in the preparation of
the Bonds issued to you. Enrollments and cancellations can also be
initiated by phone.
Flexibility in Bond Ownership
: Under NBT, an employee can
set up their payroll Bond account with any ownership rotation that they
prefer. For example, an employee with three children can elect to
have Bonds issued alternately to each child as Bonds are paid for through
payroll deduction. There is no limit to the number of persons among
whom an employee may elect to rotate ownership of the Bonds.
U.S. Savings Bond Continuation Plan:
You may elect to add
the U.S. Savings Bond Continuation Plan to your payroll savings program.
In the event of your untimely death, your named beneficiary will receive
a $100 U.S. Savings Bond every month for 10 years.
